Apartment with magnificent views
I pro: The views; our contemporary appartment room and the comfort and style of the traditional hotel and gardens. I contro: Nothing could have improved our holiday Posizione: Convenient stroll to town; beautiful views and next to the historic public gardens. Just below the Greek Theatre. We celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary with a stay in the top floor luxury appartment close to the main hotel building. The views of Taormina bay and snow capped Etna from our very private balcony were magnificent. The room was modern, clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet room in the traditional hotel overlooked the beautiful gardens and pool. The breakfast had a great choice and was plentiful. The staff were efficient and friendly. The hotel was convenient to the town but away from the tourist bustle. We had a great time! thank you - Expedia
“So good...we kept extending our stay!”
After reading reviews and looking at their website, we decided to stay in the apartments, and we are very glad we did! The main hotel is lovely, but we liked the spaciousness and modern design of the apartments. They were about 100 meters from the main hotel, but we enjoyed the same amenities. A new king size bed, kitchen...nice sofa, eating table and balcony with a view of the Ionian Sea and we were on the 3rd floor and were high enough up to see Mt. Etna. We extended our stay twice! The breakfast is perfect, lots of options and goes fairly late 10:30. Everyone at the hotel was helpful and friendly! If I have to find something negative...our kitchenette didn't come with dish soap...but they did the dishes for us. Hmm...that is as much negative items as I could find! Taormina -we didn't rent a car (thank goodness...driving looks tough) and used the bus system if we needed to go to other towns. We took it from the train station for E1.90...hint, if you take the bus be sure to get off the bus "fermata" when you see Grand Hotel San Pietro and it will save you walking time instead of going to the main bus stop. The Wifi was exceptional...most hotels are notorious for not working with our VPNs. Theirs was very good. Location -excellent...not on the main pedestrian street but was close enough and our location gave us many more options in terms of touring and restaurants. Don't miss a visit to the amazing Botanical gardens just a few steps from the hotel. We took the overnight train from Milan to Catania...very interesting. Email me if you need more info. This was low season for the town and although many places were not open, there was still plenty to choose from. Consiglio sulle camere: We loved the apartments! 3rd floor..and they have an elevator. - Tripadvisor
- Tripadvisor
“Excellent stay in Taormina!”
We just finished up six nights at this amazing hotel. My husband said it was the best hotel we've ever selected. Upon check in, we had an option of selecting a traditional room in the hotel or one of the beautiful new apartments. We went with the apartment as we were staying for an extended amount of time. We loved how modern it was and the size was fantastic. Loved having amazing views on our deck. The staff is so wonderful! They are so lovely to work with and give excellent support and recommendations. My thanks to all of you for being so talented and helpful. Breakfast was wonderful to have on site and very delicious, but you should make sure to have lunch at the pool area. It is fantastic! We will be back! - Tripadvisor
“A perfect honeymoon ”
Spent our Honeymoon here, and could not be more satisfied. The day we arrived we got a small room with no private veranda. We told the helpfull staff that we really wished to upgrade, the next day we got to choose between a better rom in the hotel or the apartment. We choose the apartment and could not be more pleased. The apartment has a beautiful view and a very modern look. This made our Honeymoon just perfect. The breakfast also is the best. My husband has gluten intolerance, and that was not a problem at all. Glutenfree bread and all he need everyday. And of course we have to say again, the staff is so friendly and helpfull. We can absolutely recomend this hotel. The hotel is nearby all you need in taormina. Hope to come back again :) - Tripadvisor
Perfetto
“New accommodation at Villa Belvedere”
I have had several very pleasant stays at Villa Belvedere over the years and recently tried out one the new studio-apartments which are accessed via a modern, transparent lift. From the accommodation the view over the sea through the wall to wall window and from the spacious, furnished balcony is one of the finest I have seen. Everything in the apartment had simple, clean lines with muted colours and the small, functional kitchen area was totally adequate. The generously scaled accommodation was well fitted out, extremely comfortable and blissfully quiet. - Tripadvisor
“Perfect stay in Taormina”
After a slightly stressful drive from Palermo, The Belvedere Hotel was exactly what we needed. From the moment we stepped through the door the staff were fantastic - warm, friendly, and accommodating - and made us feel welcome. We decided to upgrade from our room in the hotel to one of their new apartments a short walk down the road. I think we got lucky with the price - we booked via Expedia - but if you can, it's definitely worth trying the apartments (which are very impressive) or getting a sea facing room. The breakfast was one of the best we had during our tour of Sicily and the staff were always on hand to show us where the nearest beach or attraction is. We spent a few days by the hotel pool and the beach as well as walking around Taormina, which is beautiful. Taormina is one of the more expensive places in Sicily, but it's worth spending a little more to stay in the Belvedere so you can completely unwind and enjoy this stunning Sicilian town. - Tripadvisor
“Magnifico!”
Upgraded upon arrival to one of the apartments, it brought back many childhood memories of my summers in northern Italy with my relatives where I enjoyed "fare l'spesa" or the daily shopping of fruits, vegetable, bread and other goodies for lunch and dinner. The apartment is very nicely and elegantly appointed with modern furnishing and lots of details. The views out of the balcony are breathtaking and watching the Etna's eruption this morning was astonishing. The hotel's setting is so exquisite and it's pool area a true Zen refuge for us traveling urbanites. Last but not least, congrats to the very attentive staff from the reception area to the breakfast room, pool area and my room keeper. GL - Tripadvisor
“Spacious, comfortable designer apartment with superb views.”
We stayed at the Villa Belvedere in mid-May 2013. We arrived around noon and were told that it would be an hour or so before our room would be ready. During this time we were given a very detailed and helpful introduction to Taormina by Antonella from Reception. We were a little puzzled to be told that we would be staying in a beautiful apartment, as we had booked a room in the hotel. When our room was ready, we were a little disconcerted when we were led out of the hotel and walked along the road. Antonella advised us that the Manager had given us a complimentary upgrade to a new apartment owned by the hotel. We were taken in the lift to the top-floor apartment, which was huge and beautifully furnished with stunning views from the full-sized terrace. Despite the slight inconvenience of having to walk the hundred yards or so to the hotel for breakfasts etc. ( I have some mobility problems), we have to say this is without doubt the best accommodation we have stayed in since we started travelling abroad over 35 years ago. Breakfasts at the hotel were excellent, with a wide range of hot and cold buffet items, all of very high quality. We also had lunch several times at the hotel, which is served by the pool in the attractively landscaped gardens. We were very pleased by the service and quality of food, and it was a tranquil spot to eat away from the bustle of town when the cruise ships hit town! The quality of an organization's management is sometimes defined by how it responds to problems, and we did have a minor issue when we returned to the apartment on our second day to find work being undertaken on the bathroom that we hadn't been forewarned about. ( It happened to be my wife's 60th. birthday). When we took the matter up with the Hotel Manager, he could not have been more apologetic, offering us a complimentary lunch with wine to make up for our inconvenience. The matter was handled professionally and sympathetically, and we would like to offer our special thanks to Antonella on Reception for going out of her way to turning a potentially awkward situation into one where we were made to feel special. - Tripadvisor
- Tripadvisor
Excellent 4 nights at apartment
Arrived on a rainy afternoon at reception and was kindly given a quick map and useful spots to eat or visit while our cases where taken to the apartments about 50m along the road. The main hotel was closed for the off peak season but Maria who checked us in was very friendly and professional and showed us to our apartment and the basics of how to get in and where the light switches where. Upon entering the apartment we was greeted with a fabulous clean apartment flat just as it is on the hotel website. Modern clean and quiet and a fantastic view of the coast and mount etna in the morning. We requested breakfast for the first morning and that arrived promptly on time, fresh croissants and bread as well as a pot of coffee & the local fresh orange juice. As it was off season a fair few places were closed, however Maria and the hotel staff where happy to check for us and also offer alternatives. The apartment was cleaned every morning and made for a very enjoyable stay at Taromina. Checking out was easy with the manager and again offered to call us a taxi or we was free to explore parts of the main hotel which was under renovation. If they are brought up to the apartment flat standards then this is the hotel to stay at on a return trip! Thank you Hotel Villa Belvedere - Tripadvisor
“The Palazzina of Villa Belvedere ... wow !!”
This was my first time in Taormina and I am so glad I was in the Palazzina of of Villa Belvedere. After a warm welcome from the staff I arrived in my room ... wow ... what a view and what a nice decor. From my room I could see the Etna and the sea in one look! The front desk staff were nice to point me in the right direction for some local visits. I have visited many hotels in many countries, Villa Belvedere is in the top five for me - Tripadvisor
- Tripadvisor
“New Studio-Apartments at Villa Belvedere”
Although I have fairly often enjoyed short stays at lovely Villa Belvedere in Taormina; on this occasion I was offered one of their four, self-contained Studio-Apartments, newly opened at about 50 metres away and on the same road as the hotel. The modern glass lift transported me unsuspectingly to the intensely pleasurable experience of entering the apartment and being totally delighted at the luminously serene and elegant decor but then - when I approached the full-wall window, and drew back the linen curtaining, there was a breath-taking, uninterrupted view of the sea, the shoreline and of magnificent, snow-covered Mount Etna, in all its glory against the afternoon sky. The apartments have a comfortable double bed and there are useful wardrobes with large mirrors and a pleasing, sleek, shower/bathroom. The relaxing, well lit lounge area near the window has a broad rug in front of a large settee with cushions, footstools and side-tables. The kitchen area has all the utensils necessary for tea/coffee making or even for preparing a full meal. I loved just being there and enjoying it all and was tempted to spend all my time at the apartment instead of going off wandering outside. Don’t forget your camera, because you will want to take photo after photo from the balcony where there are pretty plants in pots, comfortable, summery chairs and a table; perfect for sitting quietly and enjoying that fabulous view... - Tripadvisor
